Sharpen your blades, Hockey Day in Ward 9 is back for 2012!


Join in the fun this Hockey Day in Canada, February 11, 2012, by entering a team to play in the 2nd Annual Hockey Day in Ward 9 Shinny Hockey Tournament taking place right here in Nepean!

Hosted by the Knoxdale-Merivale Council of Community Associations (KMC), the Hockey Day in Ward 9 Shinny Hockey Tournament—2012 Edition is a fun event for family and friends to take part in Canada’s favorite outdoor past-time, playing shinny hockey on an outdoor rink.

Hockey Day in Ward 9 is part of the Hockey Day in Ottawa and Hockey Day in Canada festivities taking place across the country on February 11.

The Knoxdale-Merivale Council of Community Associations invites all residents living in Ward 9: Knoxdale-Merivale to participate either by playing in the tournament or by cheering on their favorite team!

Building on last year's success, Hockey Day in Ward 9 will be held in two locations this year in order to accommodate more teams and players: The Margaret Rywak Centre in the community of Manordale-Woodvale on Knoxdale Rd. and the Trend-Arlington Community Centre off of Greenbank Rd.

This year’s tournament will feature special guests, entertainment, food, refreshments and lot's of fun for everyone!

Teams
All teams participating in the tournament must be comprised of four players—two players, 14 years old or older and two players, 13 years old or younger. At least one player from each team must live in Ward 9 or own a business located in Ward 9: Knoxdale-Merivale. Teams will be accepted on a first-come, first-registered basis so get your registration form in as soon as possible to reserve your spot!
